West Beach Drive Multi-Use Sidewalk Project

*The deadline to submit comments to be included in the public comment summary by the project team is 5:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

The City of Panama City received an $8 million grant from the Florida Department of Transportation to construct a 12-foot-wide multi-use sidewalk on West Beach Drive from Frankford Avenue to 6th Street.

The goal is to build a scenic waterfront sidewalk along West Beach Drive that increases pedestrian and bike riding connectivity and safety for its users between Downtown Panama City and Historic St. Andrews.

Project engineers have designed two concepts to 30-percent to allow both the public and City Commission to have a better understanding of what the footprint of each concept will look like. Public input received at the Open House will be presented to the City Commission as it determines which concept to continue designing.

The concepts will be available on the City's website, panamacity.gov, on March 5, 2024. They will also be on display at City Hall, located at 501 Harrison Avenue, from March 6 - 12, 2024.
